Baku. Aynur Aliyeva – APA-Economics. In January-August, 2013, cargo transportation via railway made 14.9 mln tonnes, down 2% from previous year.
State Statistical Committee says 654 waggons were entrained, 581 – detrained.
24,600 tonnes of cargo were transported to north direction of the railway, 6,300 tonnes – to west and 5,900 tonnes – to south.
Committee says 7.8 mln tonnes of cargo were transported via sea transport during the reporting period, down 8.2% from 2012. 57.1% of transportations was oil cargos, 42.9% - dry cargo. All transportations were carried out on foreign connections. 8 mln tonnes of shipping and unshipping works were carried out.
As of September 1, 2013, 66,600 tonnes of rest of import goods for sending were remained in the ports, up 10.1% compared to a year earlier.
