Azerbaijan purchases first Embraer aircraft

‘Yesterday, we have brought the first Embraer-190 aircraft to Azerbaijan. The airliner is currently under technical inspection and test flights. The aircraft will operate flights to the cities such as Tehran, Tbilisi, Volgograd. However, it is not excluded that flights to European countries will be implemented by this airliner, as well,’ Safarli said.

Safarli also noted that Azerbaijan would purchase 6 Embraer aircrafts – two of them will be Embraer-170, 4 – Embraer-190: ‘One of them has also been purchased, the second will be brought to Azerbaijan early in August, others – by the end of 2013 and early in 2014’.

‘Besides, this year, air park of AZAL has been enriched with Airbus A-340. In 2014, AZAL will purchase Boeign-787 Dreamliner,’ added AZAL’s official.

Remind that, at present time, AZAL’s air park consists of 7 Airbus A-320, Boeing-757-200; 2 Airbus A340; 2 Boeign-767-300ER and 1 Embraer-190 aircrafts.
