Baku. Aynur Aliyeva - APA-Economics. President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Takehiko Nakao has today met with the President Ilham Aliyev and Finance Minister Samir Sharifo, APA-Economics reports.
Takehiko Nakao said at the press conference that the discussions have focused on the partnership of state and private sectors, construction of toll roads.
According to him, they also discussed improvement of legislation and regulation base, conduction of procurement transparently, as well as correctly management of revenues from oil and gas sale.
“I think that the agriculture is one of the important spheres in Azerbaijan. Most of population are in this sphere. The country has great potential for development of this sphere. Moreover, tourism also is an important issue. Azerbaijan has rich natural resources. Therefore, it should direct the revenue to development of non-oil sector, social, health, education spheres. Construction of cement plant is also one of the ways of solution”, Nakao said.
He also added that establishment of State Oil Fund is a positive decision, but the Fund should not envisage only budget deficit, but also future generations too.
