150 projects from 15 countries submitted to Baku International Architecture Award

Different projects from 15 countries have been submitted to the Award, which was announced for development and implementation of urban planning and architectural designs, more meaningful design of buildings and structures, search for composition, volumetric and spatial solutions; implementation of practical ideas to achieve the maximum diversity. Executive Secretary of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan (UAA) told APA-Economics that along with Azerbaijani architects, projects from Russia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, France, South Africa, Chili, Mexico, Australia and other countries have also been presented to the Award.

 

Aliyev added that total 150 projects have been submitted to the organization within the Award. Final results of the Award will be announced on November 2.

 

Entries are invited in the following categories:

- Best implemented project in the architecture of public buildings;

- Best implemented project in the architecture of residential buildings;

- Best implemented interiors;

- Best non-realised project;

- Best implemented project in the field of landscape architecture;

- Best project undertaken in the field of rehabilitation and reconstruction of buildings;

- Best publication in the field of architecture.

 

The prize fund for winners is AZN 52,500.  The first prize is AZN 4,000 (USD 5,000), the second prize – AZN 2,500 (USD 3,200) and the third prize – AZN 1,000 (USD 1,415).

 

International juries are Michel Barmaki (Lebanon), UIA Secretary General, Elbay Gazimzada (Azerbaijan), UAA President, Vassilis Sgoutas (Greece), UIA Past President, Thomas Vonier (USA), UIA Vice-President and Hayder Ali (Sudan), UIA Vice-President.
