The Ministry of Communications and IT told APA-Economics that project participants had unanimously expressed their support to Azerbaijan’s presidency in the project.
Azerbaijan’s presidency will cover 2013-2015.
Azerbaijani side announced that during the presidency it would make efforts for increasing TAE’s effectiveness in future by taking ever-increasing demands of globalization into account.
Note that the committee on project management held on November 7-8, 2012 in Baku.
In October 1999, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey signed a trilateral protocol on realization of TAE. Construction of Azerbaijani segment of TAE was launched on 1 December 1 of the same year and the construction of the ground part of the cable was completed in 2001.
