According to Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies, chairman of Council Arif Pashayev, Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov, Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov, Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov, Chairman of State Land and Cartography Committee Garib Mammadov, Chairman of Supreme Attestation Commission Under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Arif Mehdiyev, rector of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) Hafiz Pashayev and representatives of other organizations participated in the meeting. At the same time, advisor of the Azerbaijani Cosmic Program, academician Roald Sagdeev also attended the meeting.
Pashayev noted that establishment of cosmic industry and launch of telecommunication satellite into orbit is significant for the republic and informed about the works on this direction.
Azerkosmos chairman Rashad Nabiyev informed about fulfillment state of State Program on establishment of cosmic industry in Azerbaijan, preparation and launch of first telecommunication satellite into orbit, registration of orbital positions and works on coordination, noted that the satellite is ready to launch into orbit and reported about establishment of low orbit satellite systems.
In turn, ADA’s graduate Taleh Ziyadov made speech on “Azerbaijan as transport and logistics centre in Eurasia”, stressed development of non-oil sector, including transport and information technologies.
Pashayev summarized the meeting and recommended on issues to be discussed at the next meeting.
Sagdeev was congratulated on the occasion of 80th jubilee and awarding with Dostlug order by the president of the republic for special services in strengthening of international scientific links of Azerbaijan.
