Cargo transportation via motor transport rises 3% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. n January-October, 2012, 174.2 mln tons of cargo was transported via motor transport in Azerbaijan, up 3.3%. The volume of non-oil cargo climbed 7.9%.

State Statistical Committee says 55.8% of cargo was transported via motor transport, 27.4% - pipeline, 10.9% - railway, 5.9% - sea transport. Cargo transportation in non-state sector rose 3.4%.

At the same time, 1,321.5 mln passengers were transported via motor transport in January-October, up 8.5% compared to 2011. 87.7% of passengers used cars, 12.1% – metro.
