Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov has met French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Meunier.
According to APA-Economics, expressing delight about the launching of Azerbaijan’s first satellite via an Ariane 5 rocket, from Arianespace's Guiana Space Center, Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, the ambassador noted the significance of this event for Azerbaijan.
‘Telecommunication satellite will play an important role in future development of Azerbaijan. The French side will continue to contribute to development of satellite industry of Azerbaijan’, said Meunier.
Focusing on extension of cooperation between Azerbaijan and France in ICT sphere, the ambassador stated that French companies will be represented in BakuTel-2013 with national pavilion, as well as take part in “Europe-2020 - Azerbaijan-2020” conference in Brussels.
In turn, Abbasov said that the relation with French companies would improve in future and that this cooperation would be productive for both countries: ‘Moreover, the relations in ICT sphere will play an important role in development of political ties’.
