Azerbaijani President attends openings of Balakhani plants for sorting and burning of solid waste - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

APA-Economics reports that Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev informed the head of state about the works carried out in waste management. Thereupon, the President acquainted with working mechanism of the enterprise in administrative office. He was informed about plant’s activity and its management. It was noted that this plant is the first pilot project in the country built for development of sorting and reproduction of waste. Annual production capacity makes 200,000 tons. Effective activity of the plant will stimulate to economize natural resources and energy, as well as reduce negative impact on environment.

In parallel, President Aliyev also attended the opening of Balakhani plant for burning of solid waste. Mustafayev said that this plant is the first of its kind in the East Europe and CIS. Projection and construction of the plant was realized by French Cnim Co.

It was noted that annual capacity of the plant makes 500,000 tons. There are two treatment lines at the plant that are capable of treating 33 tons/hour of waste each. The plant will consume about 15% of the electricity produced. The remaining 85 %, or approximately 231,500 MWh/year, will be sent to the electrical grid and distributed to consumers.

Azerbaijani President set the plant in operation and delivered speech at the ceremony.
