Akkord joins metro construction in Baku

Baku. Ali Ahmedov â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based Akkord Company joins metro construction in Baku. According to APA-Economics, Baku Metro and Akkord-Bouygues Joint Venture have signed a Memorandum of Understanding within the Baku Metro development Project.

Company says the memorandum covers reconstruction of 28 May station and construction of Khatai-Hazi Aslanov-II part of new Green Line (7 km-tunnel and 3 new stations) under the State Program on development of Baku Metro in 2011-2015, affirmed by the order of Azerbaijani President dated to March 18, 2011.

The document was signed by Tagi Ahmedov, head of Baku Metro, Director-General, Chairman of Board of Directors of Akkord Industrial Construction Investment Corporation Khagani Guluzadeh and Executive Director of French Bouygues Travaux Publics Jean Denys Arnal.

Note that on June 29, 2011, Akkord and the Bouygues travaux publics company, which is a part of Bouyges group, signed a memorandum of understanding in Baku on Wednesday, which envisages the cooperation between the parties in the infrastructural projects in Azerbaijan, including the laying of new lines and Baku metro stations.
