Minister Ali Abbasov: A memorandum signed between Azerbaijan and the US in ICT sector is a political document

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. A memorandum signed between Azerbaijan and the US on cooperation in ICT sector is a political document, which will stimulate the US and Azerbaijani companies to cooperate, said the Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov, APA reports.

To him, the memorandum will give political support to cooperation between the countries in ICT sphere: â€˜The document will stimulate the companies, engaged in ICT sphere of both countries, to develop the collaboration moreâ€™.

As to export of Azerbaijani ICT products to the US, Abbasov noted that the main purpose here â€“ extend production in ICT sphere and increase export potential: â€˜Azerbaijan renders internet service to such countries as Iran and Georgia. Our goal is to expand other products and services and export themâ€™.

U.S. State Department Coordinator on Information-Communication issues Philip Verveer said that currently, the US is interested in the products made in other countries: â€˜That is, the US has a competitive marketâ€™.
