Azercell to widen 4G network

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. Leading mobile operator of Azerbaijan Azercell will widen network of 4G service, Company’s President Kirill Gaburich said, APA reports.

To him, Azerbaijan is the first country in the region that applied 4G technology as commercial project: ‘We plan to enlarge 4G network. At present, there is demand for it in the country and Azercell has every opportunity for it. Despite the increase in the number of 4G users, the number of devices that support this serviceis limited in the country. That is why, number of 4G users are not so many in Azerbaijan’,

Talking about improving the quality of the network, Gaburich noted that Azercell continues to work in this direction. Since the establishment, the company have invested over $1 bn in these works: ‘We will continue investing. If last year, we installed 160 base stations for 3G only in Baku and Absheron peninsula, in 2013, we will increase their number across the country twice’.
