Deputy PM Abid Sharifov: â€œICT sector is one of the priority spheres of Azerbaijanâ€

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. ICT sector is one of the priority spheres of Azerbaijan and the government pays attention to this sphere, said the Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov at the opening ceremony of the 7th Internet Governance Forum in Baku.

According to him, this event will support ensuring of safety in internet and global development of internet.

He noted that, Azerbaijan supported ensuring of childrenâ€™s security in the internet and combating internet terrorism.

Note that officials from near 100 countries on information and communication technologies and more than 1,500 representatives from leaderships of private sector, civil society, international organizations participate in the forum, of which the topic is â€œinternet governance for sustainable human, economic and social developmentâ€. The forum will last until November 9. The issues to be discussed include global problems from internet development.
