International ICT exhibition kicks off in Baku

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The 18th Azerbaijan International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition (BakuTel-2012) has today kicked off in Baku. The organizer of the event is exclusive partner of British ITE Group in the Caucasus - Iteca Caspian . President Ilham Aliyev has also visited the event at Baku Expo Center. Currently, the head of state is getting acquainted with products presented by companies and organizations at the exhibition.

The exhibition has brought together 160 companies from 23 countries, including US, Great Britain, Iran, China, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Estonia. 40% of them are foreign, others â€“ are local companies. Austria, Canada, Croatia and France have national pavilions.

Besides, ICT products presentations will be held in the exhibition. So, software, service equipments for satellite communication, teleradio broadcasting equipments and technologies, cable TV services, mobile technologies, radio stations and radio communication devices and etc. are demonstrated at the event.

Along with this, new solutions for transferring mobile phone numbers of different operators and mobile communications for use on board aircraft will be showcased, as well. The exhibition will last until November 9.

Note that, within the framework of BakuTel-2012, Baku hosted Internet Governance Forum, too. The forum discussed the development of the global Internet network, information security, principles of international internet governance.
