Deputy Minister: Internet tariffs are favorable in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Internet tariffs are favorable in Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Communications and IT Elmir Valizadeh said, APA reports.

â€˜Price of Internet service in Azerbaijan remains at the same level in comparison to tariffs in the CIS region. In the meantime, internet price is the same in Azerbaijani capital and regions. But in Russia, tariffs are different in Moscow and other citiesâ€™, noted Deputy Minister.

Policy on reduction the prices for internet services and increasing the quality is strongly continued in the country. At present, 1 Mbit/sec internet price is AZN 5 and the user can select internet package more suitable for him/her.

Valizadeh added that the projects, which are currently realized in Azerbaijan, would allow reduce the price more: â€˜The rise in the number of internet users is also one of the important factors, playing role in direction of reduction the priceâ€™.
