International ICT week kicks off in Azerbaijan
Besides, today, Baku hosted the 47th meeting of the Council of Heads of Administrations of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications (RCC) and the 18th meeting of the Coordination Council of the CIS member states for Informatization.
On the eve of the opening of IGF-2012, Baku will host a meeting on ICT sphere at the ministerial level. It is considered to adopt Baku Declaration on the results of this meeting.
The Internet Governance Forum will bring together more than 1500 delegations from the state and international organizations, private sector, civil society, Internet enthusiasts. The main issue on the agenda will be ‘Internet Governance for Sustainable Human, Economic and Social Development’. Participants will discuss Internet safety, freedom of expression, access to the Internet and etc.

The largest event for telecommunications equipment, management systems, ICT and communications services in the Caspian region, BakuTel 2012 will feature 200 exhibiting companies from 30 countries, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, UK, Israel, Iran, China, South Korea, Lithuania, Malaysia, Russia, Slovenia, the USA, Ukraine, Estonia and other. Austria, Canada, Croatia and France will take part with national stands. BakuTel 2012 will present all the topical formats and areas of ICT, offering an extensive and varied exhibition to visitors. Among the new developments on show at BakuTel this year are software, service equipment for satellite communications, TV and radio broadcasting equipment and technology, cable television services, mobile technology radio stations and radios, all of which offers people greater and greater opportunity for communication. For the first time within the exhibition, computer projection onto surfaces of any size and structure will be presented, which can be used in advertising and entertainment. New solutions for transferring mobile phone numbers of different operators will be showcased, as will mobile communications for use on board aircraft.
