Azerbaijan increases income from cargo transportation via Silk Way corridor by 22%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayey â€“ APA-Economics. 28.1 million cargo and 129.3 million passengers were transported via Silk Way corridor in Azerbaijan in Q1, 2012.

State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that in comparison to 2011, the cargo transportation via this corridor was increased 4.8 % but passenger transportation 7,7% in the reporting period.

44.2 % of cargo transportation fell to the motor transport, 36.8 % to the railway transport, 19% - sea transport. Cargo transportation increased by 7.1% in the motor transport and 5.9% in the railway transport.

AZN 213.6 million got from the cargo transportation, AZN 40.6 million from the passenger transportation and in comparison to January-June, 2011 it was increased by 21.6% and 6.3%.
