Azerbaijan sees 19% growth in incomes from ICT, information and postal sector

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s incomes from ICT, information and postal sector rose 19% to AZN 673.74 mln during January-July, 2012, said the Chief of the Board of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Vidadi Zeynalov.

According to him, the growth rate in ICT sector made 19.2%, as well in telecommunication sector â€“ 20.5%, IT sector â€“ 4.9%, postal sector â€“ 9.3%, information sector â€“ 21.9%. 74.3% of incomes from ICT, information and postal sector came from non-state communication enterprises.

Zeynalov says 65.4% of incomes from telecommunication sector came from moile operators. Growth rate in this sector made 15.9%: â€œGDP made AZN 25.86 bln, real growth rate â€“ 1.5% compared with a previous year. Share of incomes from ICT, information and postal sector in GDP made 1.74%. GDP on non-oil sector stood at AZN 12.37 bln, real growth rate â€“ 11.3%. Share o incomes from telecommunication sector in GDP made 3.7%â€.

He also noted that, 71 work places on the Ministry were launched during the same period. â€œAverage monthly salary of communications engineer made AZN 322.1, up 12.5% from year earlier. Average monthly salary in telecommunication sector made AZN 695.5, in postal sector â€“ AZN 211.9â€.
