Customs brokers to be substituted by economic operators in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan studies experience of some countries for establishment of economic operators in customs sphere, chairman of State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev said, APA reports.

To him, at present, talks are conducted with Swiss companies: â€˜We want to learn this system in other countries and organize it at the highest level in Azerbaijanâ€™.

Aliyev noted that the exiting legislation allows both private and state institutions to engage in economic operator activity.

Committee chairman said that about 60 documents should be approved as a result of the amendment in the Customs Code.
Note that, economic operators will be the modern form of customs brokers, engaged in state customs registration. The operators will pass specials courses and respond the necessary criterions. According to new Customs Code, the license will be given by the State Customs Committee.
