President Ilham Aliyev attends opening of Nakhchivan Cement Plant

Baku - APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of Nakhchivan Cement Plant, APA reports.

The President viewed scheme of the plant, the production process, raw materials and stand reflecting the finished products.

It was noted that reconstruction and construction works had widen in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic during the recent years, the demand for construction materials had increased. From this viewpoint, there occurred sharp demand for new cement plant. First of all, specialists started to conduct geological researches in the Autonomous Republic for construction of the institution. After discovery of appropriate fields and study of composition of raw material, new cement plant was built in 150.6 ha area in Kangarli region. Consequently, one of the biggest projects was realized in the Autonomous Republic within the last 20 years.

President Aliyev walked the territory of the plant. There are production areas, storage areas for raw materials and finished goods storage, administrative and public buildings at the enterprise. 110-35-10 kW-substation was installed at the plant for reliable supply of electric power. New motor way in 2 km length was launched from Nakhchivan-Sadarak highway in direction of the plant.

It was noted that, products of Nakhchivan Cement Ltd. meet the demands of construction sector in the Autonomous Republic, as well as it will be exported to abroad. Soon, this enterprise will take a significant place in cement market of the region. Daily production capacity of the plant is 800 tonnes. Here, cement is produced through dry process.

President Aliyev was informed that products of the plant were honored with â€˜CEâ€™ marking in accordance with European standards. It is considered to produce new products and obtain local and international quality certificates in the near future.
