Cargo transportation via sea transport rises 6% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Cargo transportation via sea transport rose 5.8% to 4.3 mln tons during January-April, 2012.

State Statistical Committee says 63.4% of cargo was oil, 36.6% - dry cargo and all transportations were realized on foreign links.

10.8 mln tons of shipping and unshipping works were conducted during the accounting period, up 12% from previous year.

Note that, as of May 1, 2012, AZN 35.6 mln tons of cargo remained in the ports for sending, up 50.2% from year earlier.
