Baku hosts international event on standardization sphere

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Today, an event on â€œstrengthening of participation of State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent in international standardization processâ€ was held in Baku.

According to APA-Economics, the event was held within Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) and SCSMPâ€™s participation in the international standardization process of standardization organizations of EU member states, as well standards of foreign countries were discussed at the event.

Head of the department of State Standardization, Metrology and Patents Committee of Azerbaijan Namig Tagiyev noted that, European experience had a great significance for Azerbaijan.

According to him, more 21,000 standards are applied in Azerbaijan and 660 of these are national standards: â€œAt the same time, certain works in technical regulations sphere are being conducted. So the Committee has drafted new law on â€œTechnical regulationâ€ and submitted it to the Presidential Administration. After discussion, the project will be discussed in the next reading of Milli Majlisâ€.

Employee of Czech Department on Standards, Metrology and Testing Jiri Kratochvil spoke about international and European organizations in standardization sphere (ISO IET, ITU, CEN, CENELEC and ETCI).
