Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. ICT sector of Azerbaijan rose 5 times during the past 6 years, average annual growth rate on the sector made 30-32%, deputy minister of Communications and IT Elmir Velizadeh told APA.
To him, no retardation took place in ICT sector of Azerbaijan even during global financial crisis.
“The results of Q1 afford ground for saying optimistic forecasts. Thus, compared to last year, ICT sector increased by 15.8%, telecommunication sector – 10.6%, IT sector – 2 times. We hope that, annual growth rate will be high as it was in the outcomes of 2010 and all the considered plans will be implementedâ€, he said.
He noted that information infrastructure of the country has been extended several times as a result of the taken measuresâ€.
