3 international agreements on North-South project signed in Tehran

According to IRINN, 3 documents have been signed at the end of meeting, in Tehran.

First document covers the completion of North-South Corridor, the second document covers construction of railways between Iran and Russia, including in Iran, electrification of Tehran-Bandar Abbas railway and other cooperation in railway spheres, the third document covers development of cooperation on railway sphere between Azerbaijan and Iran.

Head of Iranian Railways Department Sahib Mohammadi says that the length of North-South transport corridorâ€™s Iran segment makes 1700 km, 511 km in Azerbaijanâ€™s area (Astara-Yalama) and this will be linked with infrastructure in Russiaâ€™ areaâ€.

According to him, the main important time of North-South corridor is the organization of Gazvin-Rasht-Astara railway: â€œThis project I important for three countries. Because of the cargos will be transported, quickly. The transportation will take 25 daysâ€.

Note that, Azerbaijan was presented by Chairman of Azerbaijan Railway CJSC Arif Asgerov.
