Prices at construction materials market rise 37% in 2010

Thus, the prices were changeable, in 2010. The prices rose in September, 2009, but fell gradually until March, 2010.

The growth has continued until the end of first-half year, in accordance to the season. In August, the prices rose, again. In general, the prices have remained unchanged at the second half of 2010. No activity was observed in construction sector on the account of state projects, as it was observed in 2006-2007. It’s possible to relate this to decrease of construction companies and prices.

As a result, the changing of the average prices at market has risen 36.6% compared to 2009. The average prices rose to 22.2% at the second half of the year, while it was 14.4% at the first-half year. The main growth was observed in iron and wood productions on import and domestic products.
The price index has risen against the average prices index 149.7 points to settle at 156.1 points.
The share of produced goods in Azerbaijan on researched outputs in total volume makes 76.5%, during the same period. Imported goods’ prices rose 16.7%, while local goods’ prices increased by 19.9%. According to observations, this was related to the processes in the countries, which exports goods to Azerbaijan.
Activity of construction market was lower 7.6% than in 2009. Although, the number of selling objects at open markets rose 7.9%, this their share in sale portfolio decreased at the end of the year.
According to experts of Union, the price dynamics in construction market will be related to several factors. These include, the price dynamics of energy carriers at world market, exchange rate of manat against foreign currencies, influence of economic crisis on producer countries, rate of construction and volume of investment directed to real estate market, including adoption of official decisions on this direction, local production growth and others.
