Cargo transportation via railway rises 7% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The cargo transportation via railway transport made 22.2 mln tons in 2010, up 6.6% compared to 2009.

The State Statistical Committee says 708 wagons were entrained, 476 wagons detrained per day, during the same period. 34.1 thousand tons of entrainment works were conducted for Northern Direction, 3.4 thousand tons â€“ for Western Direction and 3.3 thousand for southern direction per day. Cargo turnover in railway rose 8.3% to 8.2 bln tons/km.
