Azerbaijani Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov criticizes mobile operators

Baku. Ali Ahmadov-APA - Economics. Azerbaijani Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov criticized mobile operators functioning in the country, APA reports. The Minister said that price systems of the mobile operators were not transparent and satisfactory, they apply inflated prices for international roaming: “Maybe tariffs are complicated intentionally and not useful for consumers”.

Abbasov noted that roaming services of mobile operators, in general tariff system are not satisfactory: First of all, tariff system is complicated and not transparent. And these prices have been inflated”.

To him, investigations determined that prices of mobile operators with foreign countries had been inflated compared to international tariffs and mobile companies increase the prices even more than Tariff Council’s prices.

The Minister noted that roaming prices with some countries – Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, UAE, are higher than international tariffs: “Works are conducted with those countries’ operators for struggle with this. These prices will be decreased in the near term and made public”.

The Minister also said that the companies must publicize their existing tariffs in every 3 months: “Existing prices during the campaigns must be posted on their refreshed site as a simple table, in every 3 months.
