Number of FlyDubaiâ€™s direct flights reaches 31

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Dubaiâ€™s first low cost airline, made its first entry into the Bangladeshi on January 17 when flight FZ587 touched down at 2020hrs in Chittagong. Gassim became flydubaiâ€™s 31st operational destination and third route in KSA, following the start of services to Abha and Yanbu. The inaugural flight landed less than 24 hours after flydubaiâ€™s first flight to Bangladesh touched down in Chittagong, making it a busy week for the airline.

The flight, to flydubaiâ€™s 30th destination, arrived at Chittagongâ€™s Shah Amanat International Airport and was greeted by a VIP delegation, who were present to welcome flydubaiâ€™s Chief Operating Officer Hamad Obaidalla, who travelled on the flight.

The VIP delegation included Engineer Mohsharraf Hossain, Member of Parliament, Chairman of Standing Committee of Civil Aviation Affairs, Mr Sirajul Islam Khan, Divisional Commissioner and Mr Foyez Ahmed, District Commisioner of Chittagong, as well as senior airport and business leaders.

â€œThe Chittagong service will give passengers even greater travel flexibility when it becomes a daily service in March,â€ he added.

Commenting on launch of flight to Gassim, Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai CEO, said: â€œSaudi Arabia is a key market, and for flydubai to be able to offer direct, low cost flights to three separate cities in the Kingdom is a significant development for the airline and for passengers wishing to travel to the region.

One-way fare to Chittagong from Dubai will cost from AED460, including one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 7kg plus one small laptop bag or hand bag. Flights from Chittagong to Dubai start from USD 200.

Flights from Dubai to Gassim operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight FZ857 departs from Dubai at 1305hrs, arriving in Gassim at 1435hrs local time. The return flight FZ858 takes off for Dubai Terminal 2 at 1520hrs, landing in Dubai at 1840hrs UAE time. Flights to Gassim begin at AED 450 per person, including one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 7kg plus one small laptop bag or hand bag. Flights from Gassim to Dubai start at SAR 475, including one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 7kg plus one small laptop bag or hand bag.
