Azerbaijanâ€™s income from communication sector increases by 31% in 2010

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. In 2010, Azerbaijanâ€™s income from communication technologies and postal sector made AZN 1 158.9 mln, up 31.3% in comparison to 2009.

According to Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies, in general, 2010 was successful for ICT and postal sector. Thus, the telecommunication network in regions has been electronized completely.

Besides, the construction of fiber-optic highway in the direction of Siyazan-Davachi-Guba-Samur was finished.

â€œDevelopment Project of Financial Servicesâ€ implemented by the financial aid of WB was finished successfully in 2010.

Besides, most of regions of te country have been connected to AzDataCom network.

During the period of report, broadcasting of digital television in Baku, Sumgayit, Absheron peninsula, Ganja, Lerik and other regions have been started.

Internet prices have been reduced 50% during the same period.
