Azerbaijan participates in forum â€œEconomic Cooperation Platformâ€ in Istanbul

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The forum â€œEconomic Cooperation Platformâ€ was held in Istanbul.

The leading mobile operator of Azerbaijan Azercell Telecom told APA-Economics that reinforcement of the economic cooperation among the countries of the Middle East, new opportunities created by the reinforcement of these relations and other issues were discussed at the forum. The aim of the forum was to bring together officials, young leaders and businessmen from Turkey and other countries.

The delegations from 26 countries participated in the forum. Turkish President Abdullah Gul, First Lady of Egypt Suzanne Mubarak, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also attended the forum.

President of Azercell Ali Aghan represented Azerbaijan at the forum. He made a speech on the theme â€œTelecommunication and ICTâ€.

Speaking about the activity of Azercell Ali Aghan said the number of the companyâ€™s subscribers reached 4.2 million within 14 years.
â€œAzercell covers 99.8% of Azerbaijanâ€™s population,â€ he said.
