Baku hosts conference on mobile communication and social development

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Today, a conference on mobile communication and social development is being held in Baku, by the organizing of TeliaSonera Finland-Sweden Company.

According to APA-Economics, Azercell Telecomâ€™s President Ali Agan informed about the activity of the company.

According to him, the subscribers of Azercell exceed 4 mln: â€œToday, the mobile communication plays an important role in the life of people and changes the economic status to positive. Our companyâ€™s services improved the life on people.â€

Chief Operations Officer of TeliaSonera Eurasia, Mr. Halim Ates spoke about the roles of companyâ€™s activity principles in Eurasia. According to him, TeliaSonera is the 5th company in Europe for its market value: â€œThe Company operates telecommunication services in countries of Northern Sea and Baltic countries, including Eurasian new established markets and Spainâ€.

Cecilia Edstrom, Head of Group Communications, TeliaSonera noted that, the company operated in 20 countries: â€œNumber of total subscribers of company makes 460 mlnâ€.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ilktimas Mammadov says that, ICT sector is one of the priority spheres in Azerbaijan and profitable sphgere after oil.
