Azerbaijani President attend the opening of BakuTel-2010 exhibition - <font color=red>UPDATED</font>

According to APA-Economics, Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov spoke about the development of ICt in Azerbaijan.

He also noted that, 50% of population was internet users: “At the same time, we try to employ digital TV broadcasting in the country and this process will be finished in 2012”.

He also wished successes to the participants.

According to Russian Communications Minister Igor Shyogolev, today, the 43rd meeting of heads of communication administrations of Regional Communication Unit, was held in Baku: “Azerbaijan is active participant of the same unit. Thus, Azerbaijan, interests in regional development of ICT”. He also noted that Russia and Azerbaijan have close relations in ICT sphere.

Deputy Secretary of International Telecommunications Society Ho Lim Jao noted that, Azerbaijan achieved many achievements in past 10 years: “The mobile communication users reached 7 mln”.

Note that, the exhibition is being held by the initiative of Iteca Caspian Company, exclusive partner of Great Britain’s ITE Group Company in Caucasus.

According to Iteca Caspian, the exhibition will cover different events. 115 companies from 16 countries, including Azerbaijan, Israel, China, Malaysia, Turkey, USA, Korea, Lithuania, Belarus, Slovenia, Russia and other countries will demonstrate their production in the exhibition. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will attend the exhibition.

Exposition of local companies will take the 60 % of the exhibition. Azerbaijani Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies will present the results of works on People’s Computer, Electron Sign and Electron Document state projects within the framework of exhibition. The area of exhibition increased by 30% and 24 companies have joined the exhibition for the first time.
At the same time, a conference on ICT and Climate changes is expected to be held on November 24.
