According to him, decrease of roaming tariffs was discussed at the 43rd meeting of heads of communication administrations of Regional Communication Unit, in Baku: “Working group on this will be established and this problem is expected to be discussed at the next meeting. All subscribers will feel the results of these works at the first half of 2011”.

He noted that, the roaming tariffs are regulated at the market condition: “Roaming tariffs are depending on not only one country and mobile operators, but other countries and operators. The prices, almost, are regulated by the state, in all countries. That’s why, RCU and meeting of CIS Council of Heads of Government decided engage in this problem. Because, RCU has a great impact on operators and there is council of operators under the RCU. That’s why, we consider that, the problems on roaming tariffs will be solved. We decided to press on the operators, within the frame works of legislation, to decrease the roaming tariffs”.

RCU chairman, Russian Communications Minister Igor Schyogolev noted that, Russia had already started to decrease roaming tariffs: “Our leading operators decreased the tariffs on roaming in CIS area. We consider, all operators must decrease the tariffs”.

According to him, decrease of roaming in RCU will support to decrease the roaming tariffs between Europe and RCU.
