AZN 78 mln invested in Azerbaijanâ€™s postal sector this year

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The unions and institutions of Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies invested AZN 23.1 mln for meeting of communicatin system the modern world standards and employment of modern technologies, during 9 months of 2010.

According to MCIT totally AZN 78.3 mln was invested in ICT and postal sector during the same period and this makes 1.3% of capital invested in economy of the country.

AZN 10.4 mln invested in the regions for employment of new technologies and modernization of phone networks. As the result, 6 315 subscribersâ€™ lines were launched.

Completely electronization of central ATSs in Agdash, Bilasuvar and Agsu and telephone networks in Dashkasan, Imishli, Agstafa, Sabirabad regions were finished, during the same period.

Sumgayit Telephone Network reconstructed on the basis of NGN technologies.

At the same time, the launching of fiber optic connecting lines in Astara, Barda, Beylagan, Khachmaz, Gabala, Gusar, Goychay, Goranboy, Imishli, Khizi, Siyazan, Salyan, Shamkir, Sabirabad, Zakatala regions were finished.

AZN 6.5 mln was allocated to the reconstruction and extending of the Baku Telephone Communication Production Association (BTC PA).

As the result of taken measures the number of main phone apparatus reached 1 424 255.

According to modernization measures the share of ATSs in the Azerbaijanâ€™s phone network made 92.9% in October 1, 2010, while it was 87.3% in January 1, 2010.
