Transport services increase 4% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Transport facilities in Azerbaijan provided legal and physical entities with AZN 2.7 billion services in the past nine months, 4.3% raise as against the last yearâ€™s relevant period.

The State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics, 70.6% of services were provided via ground transport means and pipelines, 8.1%- sea transport, 10.8% - air lines, 10.5% - secondary and additional transport means.

145.8 million tonnes cargo transport services were carried out in the past nine months, which exceeded last yearâ€™s January-September outcomes by 2.8%.

Private sectorâ€™s cargo transportation was increased 3.8%. It took 71.6% of all cargo services in the transport sector.

One billion passengers, 3.7% more than last yearâ€™s figures, used the service of transport sector. 86.5% were carried by car transport and 13% - underground transport.
