R. Vardanyan recited a poem by Azerbaijan's great poet Mohammad Fuzuli and a passage from a poem by Huseyn Javid in Russian. After that, he concluded his speech.
Note that the court proceedings in the criminal case against Armenian citizen Ruben Vardanyan—who is charged under articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan related to crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, as well as terrorism and the financing of terrorism, along with other serious crimes—continued on February 10.
Ruben Vardanyan delivered his final statement in court, after which the judges retired for deliberation on the verdict.
