The person found in his car with 16 kilograms of heroin, 2 kilograms of opium and 6 kilograms of marijuana (24 kilograms in total) was sentenced at Baku Court on Grave Crimes, APA reports.
According to the verdict, Vusal Valiyev was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment.
During the preliminary inquiry, Vusal Valiyev said that he got the drugs from an Iranian citizen named Nehmat, whose identity is being investigated.
The investigations revealed that the detainee obtained a large amount of drugs through smuggling. Besides organizing the sale of drugs in Baku, his main intention was to send the narcotic drugs to European countries with the help of other members of the group whose identity is under investigation.
