Kazakhstan not to comment on versions not based on official sources regarding AZAL aircraft before preliminary report

The Commission investigating the causes of the crash of the AZAL plane near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25 will not comment on versions on the Internet that are not based on official sources, Kazakh Ministry of Transport released information, APA reports.

It was also emphasized that the Commission will release a preliminary report in accordance with the requirements of the country's legislation and Annex 13 of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The Ministry announced that the Commission is currently continuing its work.

Recall that, on December 25, an AZAL "Embraer" aircraft operating the Baku-Grozny route crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan. Of the 67 people onboard, 38 lost their lives, and 29 survived. Initial assessments suggest the aircraft was shot down while in Russian airspace.
