The appeal filed against the extension of the pre-trial detention measure chosen for Editor-in-Chief Vugar Mammadov, who was detained during an operation carried out by the State Security Service (SSS) at Hurriyyat newspaper and Hurriyyat TV, has been reviewed, APA reports.
A decision was announced at the hearing held at the Baku Court of Appeal under the chairmanship of Judge Anar Ibrahimov.
According to the ruling, the appeal was not upheld.
Note that Vugar Mammadov was detained on October 29 last year as a result of the SSS operation at “Hurriyyet” newspaper and “Hurriyyet TV.” By court decision, a pre-trial detention measure of 3 months and 13 days was initially imposed on him. On February 9 this year, his detention period was extended by another three months.
