As a result of measures carried out by the Nakhchivan Main Customs Department, a particularly large amount of a psychotropic substance was once again detected and removed from illegal circulation, the department told APA’s local bureau.
The narcotic substance was discovered at the “Sadarak” customs post in a vehicle transiting through the country from Iran to Türkiye.
During an inspection conducted using the "X-ray" stationary X-ray device, since suspicious features were observed on the battery placed in the trailer of the vehicle, a thorough customs inspection was carried out.
During the inspection, a particularly large amount of psychotropic substance - methamphetamine, with a total net weight of 5 kilograms 254.397 grams, was discovered in 6 cellophane packages placed inside the battery in a way that made it difficult to detect the goods.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
