A large amount of narcotics was prevented from being smuggled into the country, says the press Center of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
As a result of ensuring reliable protection of the state border, border search and operational measures against smuggling and illegal drug trafficking, on January 30 at 11:20, the “Goytepe” border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service prevented the transfer of a total weight of 16 kilograms 400 grams of drugs (11 kg 300 grams of marijuana, 5 kg 100 grams of opium) and 1990 strong-acting methadone M-40 pills containing narcotics from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Operational and investigative measures on the fact are continuing.
