Individuals attempting to smuggle a large amount of narcotic substances into Azerbaijan have been detained, the joint press release of the Press Center of the State Border Service and the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said, APA reports.
According to the report, on February 14 at 23:05, as a result of an operation carried out jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the service area of the Horadiz border detachment of the State Border Service Border Troops, the smuggling of a large quantity of narcotic substances from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented.
Abdulnaser Noorzai, a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, born in 2003, and Sadıq Tapdıq oglu Alıkışiyev, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 1986, smuggling a total of 8 kilograms of narcotic substance, marijuana into the country were detained.
Operational-investigative measures are underway.
