The court proceedings in the criminal case initiated by the State Security Service (SSS) against Abdulsamad Atayev and Elnur Rafiyev, who were accused of financing terrorism in Syria, have concluded, APA reports.
A verdict was announced at a hearing held at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes, presided over by Judge Vugar Guliyev.
According to the verdict, Abdulsamad Atayev and Elnur Rafiyev were sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. It was determined that they will serve their sentences in a high-security correctional facility.
Note that Abdulsamad Atayev and Elnur Rafiyev were detained as a result of an operation carried out by the SSS, and final charges were brought against them under Article 214-1 (financing of terrorism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
