In February of this year, 30 individuals were detained by the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan for violating the state border, this was stated in the information from the Press Center of the State Border Service, APA reports.
Among them, 8 were citizens from Azerbaijan, 10 were citizens of Pakistan, 4 were citizens of Morocco, 1 was a citizen of Afghanistan, 1 was a citizen of Algeria. In particular, 6 citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran were detained in the section of the Caspian Sea belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan as a result of operational measures carried out jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs while attempting to smuggle a large amount of narcotics into the country by violating the state border in 3 "Liner" type vessels.
As part of the fight against illegal migration, 9 individuals who attempted to cross the state border with falsified date stamps and passports, or with documents belonging to others, were detained.
779 individuals were detained for violating border regime rules, and appropriate measures were taken about them.
As a result of measures against criminal activity, 298 individuals wanted by law enforcement entities were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities, the exit of 397 individuals banned from leaving the country was prevented, and the entry of 15 individuals prohibited from entering the country was blocked.
In the fight against the illegal circulation of narcotic substances, 155 kilograms and 193 grams of narcotic substances, 191 pills, and 105 liters of liquid narcotic substances, considered strong psychoactive substances, were found and removed from circulation.
In the fight against smuggling, smuggled goods worth a total of 16 million 787 thousand 836 AZN, including 20 pieces of 9mm pistol ammunition, pharmaceuticals, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products were detected and seized.
