The amnesty act has so far been applied to 18,355 individuals, said Namig Aliyev, Senior Prosecutor of the Department for Non-Criminal Prosecution Proceedings of the Prosecutor General’s Office, during an “Open Door Day” event held at the new administrative building of the Binagadi District Prosecutor’s Office, APA reports.
According to the information provided, 5,638 of those individuals were released from imprisonment. Among those granted amnesty are 572 persons who participated in battles for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as women, persons with disabilities, and minors.
