Los-Angeles Mayor congratulates Azeri community

Elmar Abdullayev briefed the mayor about ancient roots and traditions of celebrating Novruz Holiday in Azerbaijan. He congratulated Jimmy Delshad, the Mayor of Beverly Hills, on his victory in the elections on behalf of Azerbaijan Government.
Antonio R. Villaraigosa is the 41st mayor of Los Angeles. He was elected on May 17,
2005 and sworn into office on July 1, 2005. Villaraigosa is known for his exceptional
skill at building broad bi-partisan coalitions and is considered one of the leading
progressive voices in the United States. In 2005, nearly 25 million visitors came to Los Angeles, setting a new record for tourism in the City of Angels. The City has reached an all-time record for new construction, with the value now at $5 billion dollars.
Azerbaijani community was for the first time congratulated officially by the Office of Mayor. /APA/
