Representatives of Ombudsmanâ€™s Office met with person going on hunger strike for nine days

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. The representatives of Ombudsmanâ€™s Office visited detention facility #3 and Baku detention facility of Justice Ministryâ€™s Penitentiary Service. The press service of the Ombudsmanâ€™s Office told APA that they met with the detainees, explained their rights to them and acquainted themselves with the documents confirming the detention conditions.

The detainees did not complain of the detention conditions, treatment of the administration. The representatives of Ombudsmanâ€™s Office also investigated the appeals. Several persons in Baku detention facility said their rights reflected in the criminal procedure law had been violated, the investigation was biased, they complained of the court decisions. Legal recommendations were given to them. The Ombudsman appealed to the related bodies.

The representatives of Ombudsmanâ€™s Office found out that Elkhan Nasrullayev had been going on hunger strike for nine days protesting against the decision of the Court of Grave Crimes. The detainee was advised to stop the hunger strike and file an appeal against the court decision. They met with the doctor at the detention facility and told to pay attention to Nasrullayevâ€™s health.
