New composition of Public Committee under Azerbaijani Justice Ministry – FULL LIST
Report was made on the work done by the Public Committee. The program and proposals presented to the Election Commission by the nongovernmental human rights organizations were reviewed and the new composition of the committee was formed.
Chief of Justice Ministry’s human rights and public affairs department Faig Gurbanov told APA that the first meeting of the Public Committee with the new composition will be held early in January. Special certificates signed by the minister will be presented to the members of the committee. The coordinator of the committee will also be elected at the meeting.
Gurbanov said there were a number of changes in the new composition. Some persons represented in the previous composition refused to function in the new composition as they had much work. He said conditions were created for other human rights activists to work in the committee. Gurbanov said they will also cooperate with the human rights activists who are not represented in the new composition.
Member of the election commission determining the composition of the Public Committee, MP Rabiyyat Aslanova told APA that 2 new members were elected to the committee, 3 were dismissed. Elchin Behbudov, Seadet Benenyarli and Kamil Salimov were dismissed. Nazir Guliyev and Shahin Jamalov elected members of the committee.
Aslanova said the dismissal of Elchin Behbudov was a right step.
“The committee did not need him. We familiarized with their reports covering one year. Elchin Behbudov wrote in his report that he visited all jails. But what did he do there? There was no information about it. I would name Alimammad Nuriyev as the most active member of the committee,†she said.
The new composition of the Public Committee under Justice Ministry is as follows:
Irada Javadova, Zaliha Tahirova, Chingiz Ganizadeh, Alimammad Nuriyev, Sahib Mammadov, Elmari Mamishov, Elmira Alakbarova, Saida Gojamanli, Nazir Guliyev and Shahin Jamalov.
The election commission determining the composition of the Public Committee includes parliamentarians Azay Guliyev. Rabiyyat Aslanova, chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Allahshukur Pashazadeh, representatives of Justice Ministry, Supreme Court, General Prosecutor’s Office.
The term of the previous composition of the Committee for Public Control over the Penitentiary System under Justice Ministry expired on November 11. The Public Committee was established in 2006. This is the fourth composition of the committee.
