Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration confirms â€œThe plan of events on the 20th anniversary of January 20 tragedyâ€

Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev issued an order in connection with it. The Presidential Administration told APA that the order envisages holding events â€“ conferences, meetings, delivering lectures, covering these events in media, spreading materials about the bloody January 20 in the leading mass media of the world, TV channels and internet.

According to the plan of events, to draw the attention of the world community to the bloody January tragedy, events will be held by Azerbaijanâ€™s embassies, diplomatic offices and Azerbaijani communities abroad.

Humanitarian aid will be offered to the families of the January 20 martyrs, the territory of the Martyrsâ€™ Alley will be cleaned, special lesson will be taught in all educational establishments on January 19.

The martyrs will be commemorated by a minute silence, ships, cars and trains will sound horns at 12.00 on January 20.

Appropriate plan of events has been adopted in the cities and regions of the republic, the implementation of the plan has started.

State flags of Azerbaijan will be lowered in the country that day as a sign of mourning.
