Interior Ministry holds board meeting

Baku-APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s Ministry of Internal Affairs has today held a board meeting dedicated to the files management in the organizations of internal affairs and operational work for the prevention of trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances. The ministryâ€™s press service said Interior Minister Colonel-General Ramil Usubov underscored the importance of the meeting agenda. He said files and registering of documents and correspondences, orders, rules and instructions had great importance for the systematic administration and information security as well.

Minister Usubov said drug trafficking was serious problem for every country and in recent years anti-drug campaign was organized more useful than previous years and larger deals of narcotic drugs were confiscated this year. He mentioned not only successful work, but problems in the work of some city and regional police offices. Chief of the ministryâ€™s secretariat Major-General Nazim Aliyev reported about the first issue laid on agenda. He said as a result of development of the communication and information technologies in the past period of current year more than 35 000 documents and letters, 265 laws, decrees and orders received from the Presidential Administration and Cabinet of Ministers were registered and filed and 5 202 documents and letters were addressed.

Chief of the Interior Ministryâ€™s Anti-Drug Office Major-General Hazi Aslanov made report on the agendaâ€™s second issue. He said for the prevention of trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances, as well as smuggling not only organizational measures are taken, but also the office took operational work, its improvement and setting the purposeful mutual relations.

Minister Usubov valued the work of interior agencies for implementation of two issues satisfactory and made concrete recommendations for solving the existing problems and shortcomings.

The minister mentioned the upcoming municipal elections on December 23 and said they have taken all necessary measure to provide security, stability and public order during the elections.
